In a shocking daylight robbery, unidentified assailants allegedly raided a Bank of Maharashtra branch in Bihar's Samastipur district, making off with jewellery valued at around Rs 4.5 crore and Rs 15 lakh in cash.

The incident occurred at 11:30 am when a group of seven to eight masked and helmeted individuals stormed the Kashipur branch, according to police reports. The assailants held bank staff and patrons at gunpoint, systematically emptying the lockers and cash compartment before fleeing the scene.

The local police, led by SP Ashok Mishra, have registered a case and launched a manhunt to apprehend the culprits. Initial statements by bank employees confirm the scale of the theft. Investigations are ongoing.
