Operation Sankalp: A Fierce Counter-Insurgency Against Naxalites in Chhattisgarh
Operation Sankalp, a major counter-insurgency campaign in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, has led to the death of 22 Naxalites during an encounter. Since its launch, 168 Naxalites have been killed, and significant weaponry and explosives have been seized. In a significant counter-insurgency effort, Operation Sankalp claimed the lives of 22 Naxalites during an encounter in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district. Conducted by security forces, the operation is a part of an extensive campaign against Naxalite militants in the region.
Launched on April 21, the operation has witnessed around 35 encounters resulting in the elimination of 168 Naxalites, with 151 casualties occurring in the Bastar division. Over 28,000 security personnel are part of this operation, working to dismantle the Naxalite stronghold.
During the operation, significant caches of weapons, IEDs, and other materials have been seized. Although the operation is ongoing, authorities have not disclosed further specifics for security reasons.
