In a bid to bolster preparedness, Arunachal Pradesh engaged in mock drills on Wednesday as part of the nationwide 'Operation Abhyaas'. Security agencies were put to the test in simulations of hostile events such as air raids and fire emergencies, according to officials.
The drills spanned four key locations: Itanagar, Hayuliang, Bomdila, and the border district of Tawang, featuring exercises at significant sites including Khandro Drowa Zangmo District Hospital and ANM School. A separate exercise took place at Aalo's New Market area in West Siang district.
The initiative emphasized improving interagency coordination and preparing the community for genuine disasters. Participants included civil defence teams, local police, and volunteers. The activity follows 'Operation Sindoor', a military retaliation against terror acts involving missile strikes on targets in Pakistan and PoK.
