The state of Bihar was abuzz as civil defence mock drills unfolded across six districts on Wednesday, a directive from the central government to bolster national preparedness.
During the exercise, power supplies were suspended for ten minutes in Patna, Purnea, Katihar, Begusarai, Araria, and Kishanganj, with warning sirens signifying the drill's start. Dubbed 'Operation Abhyaas', the drill simulated scenarios of air raids and emergency situations.
Aimed at raising public awareness about the importance of civil defence during emergencies, the mock drill saw coordination between fire services, police, and administrative departments. The initiative follows rising India-Pakistan tensions after the Pahalgam terror attack.
