BJP's N Zangura Takes Helm as LADC Chief Amidst Protests

N Zangura, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has assumed the pivotal role of Chief Executive Member (CEM) in the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) in Mizoram.

Zangura's appointment displaces Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) leader V Zirsanga, marking the BJP's influence over all three autonomous district councils in the state. This shift in power has not gone unnoticed and has sparked dissent among local groups.

Highlighting such dissent, the Lai Students' Association (LSA) has launched protests demanding fresh elections due to perceived instability. The political landscape has recently seen five executive upheavals, posing challenges to governance and development in Lawngtlai.
