Escalating Tensions: Drones and Denials Between Nuclear Neighbors
Pakistan shot down 12 Indian drones amid escalating military tensions, a day after India targeted Pakistani sites with airstrikes. Both nations exchanged accusations following these actions, raising fears of further conflict. India accused Pakistan of terrorism-related involvement, while Pakistan denied this and promised retaliation.

The military tensions between Pakistan and India intensified as Pakistan reported shooting down 12 Indian drones that allegedly violated its airspace. This act follows a series of Indian airstrikes on Pakistani territories, heightening worries of a potential broad-scale military conflict between the nuclear-armed neighbors.
According to Pakistan military spokesperson Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the drones sent by India, which included Israeli-manufactured Harop drones, were targeted in significant urban centers like Karachi and Lahore. Despite requests for a response, India's defense ministry has remained silent on the issue.
The airstrikes by India were reportedly aimed at dismantling 'terrorist infrastructure' within Pakistan, subsequent to an accusation against Pakistan for its involvement in an attack in Kashmir that resulted in 26 deaths. Islamabad denies the allegations and vows to retaliate, while controversy over these assertions continues.
