In a significant development, two officials from the Maharashtra revenue department's Raigad district were apprehended on allegations of accepting bribes to modify land records, according to a statement from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday.

The accused, identified as Vijay Mapuskar, a circle officer, and Vasundara Dhumal, a talathi, reportedly requested a bribe of Rs 5,000 each from a complainant to facilitate a land mutation on behalf of a woman in the Revdanda locality.

The ACB acted swiftly after receiving the complaint, setting up a trap that led to the officials' arrest on Wednesday. Both individuals have been charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act and will remain in ACB custody until May 10, as ordered by the court.
