Legal Showdown: Susman Godfrey Battles Trump's Executive Orders

Susman Godfrey, a U.S. law firm, seeks a Washington judge's order to bar President Trump's executive actions against it. The firm claims these orders violate constitutional rights as retaliation for its stance on the 2020 election. Similar actions have been challenged by other major law firms.

In a significant legal battle, U.S. law firm Susman Godfrey will petition a Washington judge to permanently block an executive order by President Donald Trump. The firm argues the order retaliates against their constitutional rights.

The lawsuit, to be heard by U.S. District Judge Loren AliKhan, marks another chapter in the ongoing conflict sparked by Trump's actions against major law firms, which he accuses of siding with political opponents. Trump's legal defeats have mounted, with judges suspending previous orders affecting four firms.

Susman Godfrey, representing Dominion Voting Systems, claims Trump's order punishes them for defending the 2020 election's integrity. Despite the U.S. Justice Department's defense of these orders, settling firms have conceded almost $1 billion in pro bono services to avoid conflict with the Trump administration.
