A tragic incident has occurred near Gobichettipalayam as the bodies of a newlywed couple were discovered floating in a village well on Thursday morning.
The couple, 23-year-old Sakthivel, a construction worker from Pudukothukadu, and 19-year-old Priyadarshini of Indiampalayam, tied the knot with their families' blessing seven months ago. They were visiting Priyadarshini's maternal home for a local festival.
Villagers alerted the Kadathur police after sightings of the bodies at around 8 am, leading to their recovery and subsequent transfer to Sathyamangalam Government Hospital for autopsy. Authorities have registered a case of suspicious death, and an investigation is active.
