In an effort to combat cyber crime, Odisha police have apprehended two individuals from Kolkata, implicated in cyber fraud cases totaling over Rs 8 crore.

The arrests were made following a complaint by a 50-year-old victim who was tricked into investing in fraudulent stocks and IPOs. Initially drawn in by small profits, he later discovered a substantial loss of Rs 2.36 crore.

The law enforcement also detained another suspect linked to a Rs 6 crore fraud that deceived a doctor in Bhubaneswar. Multiple bank accounts of the fraudsters have been frozen as investigations continue.
