Cyber Fraud Crackdown: Arrests in Multi-Crore Scam
Odisha police arrested two individuals in Kolkata in connection with two cyber fraud cases worth over Rs 8 crore. The accused are said to have convinced victims to invest in stocks and IPOs through fake apps. Investigations are ongoing to uncover further accomplices and financial trails.

In an effort to combat cyber crime, Odisha police have apprehended two individuals from Kolkata, implicated in cyber fraud cases totaling over Rs 8 crore.
The arrests were made following a complaint by a 50-year-old victim who was tricked into investing in fraudulent stocks and IPOs. Initially drawn in by small profits, he later discovered a substantial loss of Rs 2.36 crore.
The law enforcement also detained another suspect linked to a Rs 6 crore fraud that deceived a doctor in Bhubaneswar. Multiple bank accounts of the fraudsters have been frozen as investigations continue.
