Swift Relief Measures in Poonch Amid Border Tensions

In a swift response to recent hostilities, authorities in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district have provided immediate relief to families affected by Pakistani shelling. Thirteen individuals, including women and children, lost their lives, and over 40 sustained injuries following retaliatory missile strikes by Indian armed forces on terror infrastructure across the border.

Poonch Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal announced that Rs 6 lakh has been allocated to the next of kin of the deceased, while those with serious injuries have been awarded Rs 50,000. The efforts align with established norms aimed at prompt victim support. Kundal, during his hospital visit, ensured the best treatment for the injured and met families to express solidarity.

The administration remains committed to citizens' welfare, ensuring essential supplies and monitoring the situation closely. Shelters with vital amenities have been set up, and departments are instructed to expedite restoration of water and electricity. Kundal emphasized the importance of an uninterrupted supply of necessities as the district continues to navigate the challenges posed by the situation.
