Delhi Police have made significant progress in a high-profile theft case involving Rs 99 lakh by apprehending three individuals linked to the crime and recovering a substantial portion of the stolen funds, officials confirmed on Thursday.

The case unraveled after Jaikishan, the manager of a cash collection firm, reported the absconding of employee Yogesh with the hefty sum during operations in Mayur Vihar Phase-1. An FIR was promptly filed at the Pandav Nagar police station, sparking an intensive investigation.

Authorities revealed that the theft was a planned conspiracy involving Yogesh, his brother Mukesh, cousin Rahul, and friend Pankaj. Their primary operation was believed to be staged from Nepal. The breakthrough occurred on May 6 when Mukesh was detained in his native village of Daudpur, resulting in the recovery of Rs 51.3 lakh. Following this, police apprehended Rahul and Pankaj in Delhi, seizing an additional Rs 13 lakh. The accused allocated approximately Rs 7 lakh toward loans and travel expenses, also purchasing a high-end mobile device with the stolen money. Although Yogesh continues to evade capture, police efforts to locate him are relentless, with all arrested individuals having no prior criminal history.
