On Thursday, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini criticized the Punjab government, accusing it of mishandling an ongoing water dispute and mistreating Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) Chairman Manoj Tripathi during his visit to the Nangal dam.
Saini accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of disrespecting constitutional institutions and ignoring the Punjab and Haryana High Court's water issue verdict. He described Punjab as an advocate of harmony, urging Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to avoid politicizing Haryana's rightful water share.
Amid rising tensions, former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda urged the central government to dismiss Punjab Minister Harjot Singh Bains for alleged unlawful actions and deploy forces to maintain order at the Bhakra Dam.
