In a direct contradiction to the recently announced ceasefire by Russian President Vladimir Putin, eight settlements in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region faced a barrage of attacks on Friday. The governor of the region, Ivan Fedorov, shared this alarming development on the Telegram messaging platform.

Fedorov reported that the Russian forces executed 220 strikes on these settlements over a mere 24-hour period. This aggressive assault was carried out using 150 drones and 70 rounds of artillery, painting a grim picture of the ongoing hostilities.

Putin announced the ceasefire on Thursday, which was expected to de-escalate tensions along the frontline. However, the recent assaults highlight the fragile reality of the situation, as conflict persists in this war-torn region.
