Authorities at Dumna Airport in Madhya Pradesh seized a prohibited GPS tracker device from a US national, police reported Friday. Angela K Parinar, a 62-year-old resident of Kansas, USA, was found carrying the device during a routine security check.

The device was confiscated under the Telecommunication Act, as its possession is banned during air travel in India. CISF personnel discovered the tracker in her hand luggage before her flight from Jabalpur to Delhi.

Despite the seizure, Parinar was allowed to continue her journey. She explained the device was intended to share her travel whereabouts with family because of her advanced age. The incident highlights the regulation against satellite phones and GPS devices in Indian airspace.
