The Punjab government has revoked all approved leaves for Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Punjab Civil Services (PCS) officers, citing rising tensions between India and Pakistan. This decision was communicated through a letter issued by the state's secretary personnel, Gurpreet Kaur Sapra, on Friday.

Punjab Police earlier cancelled the leave of its personnel in a similar move. In a letter addressed to IAS and PCS officers, it was stated that no officer should leave their posting station without the explicit approval of the Chief Secretary Punjab. All previously approved leaves are now null and void.

These measures come as the state prepares for potential emergencies following an escalation in military activities. India conducted missile strikes on terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, leading to enforced blackouts in several major cities including Pathankot, Mohali, and Amritsar.
