Moscow celebrated the 80th anniversary of Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in World War Two with a grand parade on Red Square, attended by international dignitaries, including China's Xi Jinping. The event was held under tight security due to ongoing threats from Ukrainian forces.
President Vladimir Putin and his defense minister, Andrei Belousov, honored 11,000 troops, many of whom have served in Ukraine, amidst roars of approval. Despite the formal ceasefire, tensions with Ukraine remain high as drone attacks have been reported in recent days.
The parade included military units from 13 countries and featured new drone technology. President Zelenskiy of Ukraine criticized the event, calling it a display of 'cynicism.'
