Corruption Unveiled: Former Revenue Officials Embroiled in Land Scandal

The Anti-Corruption Bureau has launched a formal investigation into allegations of illegal land transfers in Jammu's Nagrota area. Three former revenue officials are accused of abusing their positions to facilitate unauthorized land transfers to private individuals.

Authorities have named Riaz Ahmed, the erstwhile Patwari of Nagrota, and former Tehsildars Rajesh Kumar Thakur and Nissar Ahmed Shad, among others, in the case. These officials allegedly engaged in a series of fraudulent activities, including criminal conspiracy, cheating, and forgery.

Key incidents identified include a 2017 inheritance mutation fraudulently transferring land to Sudarshan and Raghbir Singh and a violation involving custodian land for Bidyawanti. Meanwhile, continued investigations may unearth further evidence.
