In Gurugram, a court has handed down five-year sentences to two men involved in a mobile snatching case from 2020. The ruling was delivered by additional session judge Punit Sehgal, who also levied a fine of Rs 25,000 on each convict.
The case originated from a complaint lodged on March 21, 2020, when a victim reported two men on a motorcycle had forcibly taken his mobile phone and threatened his life. Acting on this, police registered an FIR and proceeded with the investigation.
Suspects Ajay Rohilla and Harsh Malik were apprehended and subsequently placed in judicial custody. Investigating officers gathered comprehensive evidence, which included witness testimonies, leading to the eventual guilty verdict delivered in court on Friday, per a Gurugram police spokesperson.
