Punjab's Mobilization: Fire Services on High Alert Amid Border Tensions

The Punjab government has announced a series of proactive measures to strengthen its fire and emergency services as tensions mount along India's border with Pakistan. Local Government Minister Ravjot Singh has not only canceled all leaves for the fire brigade staff but has also mandated their continuous deployment at key sensitive areas across the state.

Stressing the critical role of the fire brigade during wartime emergencies, Singh directed officials to conduct rigorous mock drills, ensure the operational readiness of equipment, and maintain seamless communication with military authorities to ensure a swift response if required. Fire brigade teams are to be on constant alert, with mobile connectivity maintained at all times to facilitate immediate action.

Affirming the state's dedication to public safety, Singh emphasized that all necessary resources have been mobilized. Cabinet ministers will personally visit hospitals and fire brigade facilities, while Additional Chief Secretary Tejvir Singh has urged officials to maintain professional dedication. He assured that the department is well-equipped but encouraged prompt reporting of any additional needs.
