Mumbai Police's Anti-Narcotic Cell (ANC) has successfully intercepted a major drug operation, confiscating narcotics valued at Rs 5.8 crore during a series of strategic raids across the city.
In a coordinated operation spanning different city locales, the Azad Maidan, Ghatkopar, and Worli units targeted Powai, Oshiwara, and Dadar, respectively. The Azad Maidan unit managed to seize 108 grams of MD valued at Rs 21.60 lakh, while the Ghatkopar team confiscated 2.040 kg of 'hydraulic weed,' a cannabis variant, worth Rs 2.04 crore. Not to be outdone, the Worli contingent discovered 3.55 kg of the same substance, attributed a value of Rs 3.55 crore.
Authorities have charged the three arrestees under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and are continuing their investigations to dismantle potential wider networks and sources of these narcotics.
