The Delhi Assembly’s budget session, scheduled to start Tuesday, has been shelved, according to officials. The session was expected to see the tabling of the Delhi School Education Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees Bill, 2025, aiming to manage private school fees.
An official confirmed the government's decision to defer the session, with new dates to be announced in the forthcoming days. The first part of the session began on March 24, when Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, also overseeing the finance sector, introduced her first budget.
Gupta disclosed the 2025-26 budget, highlighting an allocation of Rs 1 lakh crore, a 31.5 percent hike from the previous fiscal period.
