The Allahabad High Court has dismissed the plea of popular YouTuber Elvish Yadav, challenging a chargesheet and ongoing criminal proceedings in the contentious snake venom case. The chargesheet alleges the use of snake venom as a recreational substance at rave parties, involving both locals and foreigners.
Yadav's defense team, led by senior counsel Navin Sinha, argued the incompetence of the informant under the Wildlife Protection Act and claimed no evidence was found against Yadav at the alleged party. They emphasized that Yadav is a renowned influencer whose arrest attracted considerable media attention, potentially influencing law enforcement actions.
Despite the defense's insistence on lack of evidence, Additional Advocate General Manish Goel presented findings from the investigation, suggesting Yadav had supplied snakes to key figures involved in the incident. The case is set to be evaluated comprehensively during the trial stage.
