Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has committed to expediting rehabilitation projects for landslide survivors in Wayanad, as confirmed in a statement from his office. He has instructed officials to ensure timely provision of monthly accommodation rent to the affected families.

During a meeting focused on assessing progress, Vijayan mandated a timeline for obtaining necessary approvals to construct a new township for survivors from the severely impacted Mundakkai and Chooralmala hamlets. His push illustrates a government prioritizing swift recovery efforts after the disastrous landslide.

Vijayan also instructed officials to accelerate vital tasks including tree cutting, power system reorganization, and other necessary activities. The aim is to facilitate swift assistance and debris clearance to improve water flow, all under the supervision of senior officials including ministers and the Chief Secretary.
