Latur Police apprehended a 30-year-old woman accused of gold chain-snatching from female bus passengers, recovering 51.5 grams of gold jewelry valued at around Rs 5 lakh.
The woman's arrest came after a tip-off led officers to nab her near bus stand no. 2, revealing her modus operandi of preying on crowded buses. She faces pending cases in multiple police stations.
Simultaneously, police intensified operations against illegal liquor trade, registering 73 cases and seizing illicit stock worth Rs 1.71 lakh. The crackdown involved 23 officers and 105 personnel, destroying thousands of litres of country-made liquor and raw materials.
