Sharad Pawar, president of the NCP (SP), has called for significant updates to the laws and policies governing Maharashtra's cooperative sector, emphasizing its decline compared to Gujarat.
During a symposium with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Pawar urged the government to frame policies and enact legal changes to bolster the sector.
He highlighted the privatization of sugar mills and closure of cotton ginning mills, stressing the necessity of examining these trends to prevent the historic cooperative movement from fading into oblivion.
