Tragedy at Kanhar River: Illegal Sand Mining Leads to Constable's Death

In a tragic turn of events, Constable Shiv Bhajan Singh was killed by a tractor carrying illegally mined sand in Balrampur district, Chhattisgarh. The unfortunate incident has led to the suspension of a police official over alleged negligence.

Singh was part of a police team that had been dispatched to the Chhattisgarh-Jharkhand border after receiving reports of illegal sand mining in the Kanhar river in Libra village. The police attempted to detain those involved in the unlawful activity, but Singh was tragically run over by the escaping tractor.

Authorities are conducting a rigorous investigation to identify and apprehend the driver and owner of the vehicle. Meanwhile, Sanawal Station House Officer Divyakant Pandey has been suspended pending further investigations.
