AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar accused the BJP-led Delhi government of failing to uphold its election promise to deliver free electricity while addressing a press conference on Monday. Residents now face frequent power cuts and a possible increase in electricity tariffs, starkly contrasting the AAP's decade-long track record of uninterrupted and subsidized power supply.

Kumar, representing the Kondli assembly, criticized the BJP for planning a seven percent tariff hike during the summer and failing to deliver on its promise of free electricity up to 300 units during the recent elections. Kumar highlighted that AAP had previously ensured free electricity up to 200 units and subsidized rates for up to 400 units.

The BJP seized power in Delhi earlier this year with a decisive win, securing 48 out of 70 assembly seats and ending AAP's long-standing rule. Kumar stressed the differences between the two governance models, praising AAP's achievements while warning of power supply challenges under BJP's administration.
