Justice delivered in Pollachi case: Nine sentenced to life imprisonment

The Coimbatore Mahila Court has delivered a landmark verdict by sentencing nine men to life imprisonment for their involvement in the Pollachi sexual assault and extortion case, which drew national attention.

Both Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin and the main opposition party, AIADMK, have expressed approval of the court's decision. The case also resulted in a compensation order of Rs 85 lakh for the victims.

This verdict underscores the demand for quick justice in sexual assault cases, with calls being made for fast-track courts to expedite similar cases' proceedings.
