China's Expanding Nuclear Arsenal Raises Global Concerns

China has opted to remain silent regarding a think tank's report highlighting the country's rapidly growing nuclear arsenals. On Monday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated that China adheres to a self-defense strategy regarding nuclear arms.

At a regular press briefing, Guo emphasized that China's nuclear forces are maintained at a minimal level necessary for national security. The commitment to avoid participating in any form of nuclear arms race was reiterated.

This comes at a time when global scrutiny over China's military build-up is increasing, with reports suggesting that China possesses the fastest-growing nuclear arsenal in the world.
