The Karnataka High Court has insisted on ensuring transparency and accountability in the investigation of a deadly stampede that claimed 11 lives. The court expressed its reservations about the state government's request to keep the investigation's status report under wraps, emphasizing the importance of public scrutiny.

During a hearing led by Acting Chief Justice V Kameswar Rao and Justice CM Joshi, the state's Advocate General Shashi Kiran Shetty argued against disclosure to prevent prejudicing inquiries. Nevertheless, the court announced its intention to involve an amicus curiae to assist in the review.

Furthermore, the court plans to implead the Karnataka State Cricket Association, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and DNA Networks, hoping to maintain an open investigation process. Notices have been issued to these entities ahead of the next hearing on June 23.
