Protests Ignite Over Blogger's Death: A Clash with Kenyan Authorities
Protests erupted in Nairobi after the death of blogger Albert Ojwang, spotlighting alleged police misconduct in Kenya. His death, initially ruled a suicide, was later attributed to assault, sparking public outrage. Demonstrations spread to Mombasa, as citizens expressed frustration over ongoing issues with police brutality.

Protests have intensified in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi following the death of blogger Albert Ojwang, a situation that has drawn attention to alleged extrajudicial killings by Kenyan police. The protests turned violent as motorcyclists attacked demonstrators, leading to serious clashes further fanned by additional protests in Mombasa.
Ojwang, aged 31 and a teacher, was declared dead under suspicious circumstances shortly after his arrest. Initially labeled a suicide, an independent autopsy later revealed evidence pointing to assault as the cause of death. This triggered national anger, prompting President William Ruto to decry the police's actions as unacceptable.
In response, Deputy Police Chief Eliud Lagat has temporarily stepped aside amid ongoing investigations. Authorities have detained two senior officers and a CCTV technician linked to Ojwang's case, as citizens call for justice and reform in the police force.
