The incident unfolded at the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation-run hospital and was caught in a video that quickly gained traction online. In the video, the accused, identified as a 32-year-old contract worker at the hospital morgue, is seen asking for the money from the family of the deceased, a 27-year-old woman from Kanpur.
Public outrage ensued, with Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) members calling for accountability. Following the video's circulation, the corporation took decisive action, leading to the worker's termination. The hospital superintendent has faced protests and demands for an apology to the affected family.
