The Indian government on Thursday announced the launch of the Gender Budgeting Knowledge Hub, a digital platform designed to bolster gender-responsive planning across the nation.
The platform aims to empower policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders by providing a central repository of tools, including policy briefs and gender-disaggregated data. This initiative seeks to promote the integration of a gender perspective in planning and budgeting at both the Central and state levels.
During the national consultation event, attended by representatives from various ministries and international organizations, Women and Child Development Minister Annpurna Devi emphasized the crucial role of gender budgeting in achieving inclusive growth as part of India's Viksit Bharat @2047 vision. The portal is set to be a one-stop resource for sharing best practices and policy briefs, ensuring that gender equality is a key consideration in every fiscal decision.
