Authorities are pushing for swift convictions in connection with last year's violence near Shahi Jama Masjid, with charges now filed against Samajwadi Party MP Zia-ur-Rehman Barq and others. The clashes, which erupted during a court-ordered survey, resulted in deaths and numerous injuries.
Sambhal Superintendent of Police Krishan Kumar Vishnoi revealed that communication between Barq and Shahi Jama Masjid's president Zafar Ali played a role in mobilizing the crowd shortly before the violence. The chargesheet is backed by substantial evidence, including crime recreation and ballistic reports.
The ongoing legal process sees accusations leveled against multiple individuals, with a total of 92 arrests made. The MP-MLA court in Chandusi is handling the case, aiming to bring swift justice and restore order following the incident's turmoil.
