An inspector in charge of Shahdara district's Special Staff has been suspended over allegations of embezzling Rs 2 crore, connected to a large-scale piracy operation involving NCERT books, according to official sources on Thursday.

The Delhi Police stated that two sub-inspectors from the Anti-Snatching Cell and the Anti-Auto-Theft Squad are also under departmental scrutiny for reported "lapses" in their duties.

This suspension follows a raid in which law enforcement seized counterfeit NCERT textbooks, valued at over Rs 2.4 crore, nearly a month ago, pointing to serious financial misconduct during the crackdown.
