Tragic Pond Drowning of Eatery Worker in Nurpur

A 53-year-old man, identified as Rajesh alias Rinku, tragically drowned in a pond near a temple in Nurpur. The incident has shocked the local community, although police have ruled out any suspicious circumstances.

Hailing from Delhi's Rohini area, Rajesh had been an employee at a local eatery, residing with Mahendra Singh, a panchayat member. Rajesh's demise came to light when devotees noticed his lifeless body in the water, prompting them to alert the authorities.

Nurpur Deputy Superintendent of Police Vishal Verma confirmed that the case is being handled under Section 194 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, which pertains to inquiries into unnatural deaths including accidents. A full investigation is ongoing to ascertain further details.
