Omar Abdullah Criticizes Israel-Iran Conflict and Advocates Water Rights for Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has voiced his disapproval of the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict, questioning the necessity of Israel's aggression towards Iran. He emphasized that war, irrespective of its location, is detrimental.

Addressing the media at the launch of an outreach office in Jammu, Abdullah stressed the importance of Jammu and Kashmir's autonomy over its water resources. He dismissed any current initiatives to channel excess water to other states, underlining that local needs must be prioritized.

Abdullah also highlighted the evacuation of over 6,000 Indians from Iran amid escalating tensions, with ongoing efforts to bring them to safety. Additionally, he reiterated the state's aspiration to regain full statehood, a promise made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
