A tuition teacher in Maharashtra's Thane district faces serious charges, including rape, after his arrest on allegations of assaulting a 17-year-old female student. The victim was enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts program and took private classes with the accused.
The teacher, aged 50, allegedly used the guise of career discussions to lure the student before molesting her in his classroom. Police report that the teacher subsequently warned her against disclosing any details and continued to exploit her both at his tuition classes and at her home when they were alone.
After the young woman confided in her mother, they reported the incidents to the authority, resulting in the teacher's arrest on Saturday. He faces charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
