A tragic incident unfolded in Jharkhand's Hazaribag district when a couple died after the roof of their room collapsed while they slept. The unfortunate accident occurred in Rasoidhamna village on Sunday night, leaving Hadis Ansari, 52, and his wife Zamira Khatun, 48, dead on the spot.
Barhi Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Johan Tudu confirmed that other family members were unharmed as they were sleeping in separate rooms. The bodies were sent to Barhi Sub Division Hospital for postmortem, with SDO Tudu pledging government relief support and grants to the bereaved family.
Left behind are their five children, and further assistance includes educational opportunities for the younger daughters at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya. The family was provided with immediate relief, including food and cash, and a total of Rs 8 lakh in disaster compensation. An ordered survey of dilapidated homes aims to prevent such tragedies.
