Authorities in Kadma apprehended a 28-year-old man, Harikesh Patel, for the possession of illegal arms, according to a senior police officer. The arrest was carried out during a raid on Monday following intelligence reports.
Under the direction of SSP Piyush Pandey and a team including SP (City) Kumar Sivashish, Deputy Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Thakur, and officers from the Kadma police station, a raid was conducted, leading to the suspect's detention. The operation also resulted in the recovery of weapons hidden in an abandoned company quarters' toilet.
Findings revealed that the arms cache consisted of a country-made pistol, an iron-made country pistol, various live cartridges, and empty magazines. Preliminary investigations suggest Patel aimed to use these firearms for intimidating and extortion purposes, although he has no previous criminal history. A case under the Arms Act has been filed accordingly.
