Jyoti Malhotra, a social media influencer from Hisar, remains in judicial custody amid ongoing espionage allegations. Her detention was extended by 14 days, as announced in court on Monday.
The arrest took place on May 16 due to suspicions of espionage, leading to her charge under the Official Secrets Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Malhotra's lawyer, Kumar Mukesh, confirmed her appearance via video-conferencing with the next hearing slated for July 7.
Despite the June rejection of her bail plea, police investigations continue, citing her contacts with individuals linked to Pakistani intelligence. This follows allegations of her being developed as an 'asset' by foreign operatives.
