Agra Zila Panchayat Proposes Renaming Historical Sites

The Agra zila panchayat has unanimously passed a proposal to rename several historical areas, aiming to shed names considered symbolic of 'slavery.'

The proposal, introduced by zila panchayat chairperson Manju Bhadoria, calls for changing Fatehabad town to Sindoorpuram and Badshahi Bagh to Brahmapuram. The decision was made during a board meeting held on Monday.

The suggested names aim to pay homage to cultural icons such as the Brahmos missile and Lord Brahma. Awaiting state government approval, the changes signify a significant shift in regional nomenclature.
