Rajesh Kumar Appointed Maharashtra Chief Secretary

Rajesh Kumar, a 1988-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the new chief secretary of Maharashtra, succeeding Sujata Saunik. He will continue his role as additional chief secretary (revenue). Kumar, previously CEO of Beed zilla parishad and district collector, will retire on August 31.

In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Maharashtra government has appointed Rajesh Kumar as the new chief secretary of the state. The announcement was made following the retirement of Sujata Saunik, the predecessor, on Monday.

Kumar, who is a seasoned 1988-batch IAS officer, will also retain his current position as the additional chief secretary (revenue), according to an official order released by V Radha, the Additional Chief Secretary of Services in the General Administration Department.

Having previously held notable positions such as CEO of Beed zilla parishad and district collector of Dharashiv and Jalgaon, Kumar will continue to contribute to the state's administration until his retirement on August 31.
