Delhi Police Cracks Down on Dangerous Chinese Manjha
Delhi Police is launching a crackdown on the sale and storage of Chinese manjha, a banned kite-flying string notorious for causing injuries and fatalities in the capital. The police have instructed all district officers to conduct raids, seize the manjha, and arrest those involved.

In a significant move against the hazardous use of Chinese manjha, Delhi Police announced a city-wide crackdown to enforce the existing ban on this dangerous kite-flying string. A senior officer revealed plans for raids targeting sellers and stockers across the capital.
Banned in Delhi since 2017, Chinese manjha is a sharp, glass-coated string that continues to cause severe injuries and even fatalities. The recent tragic death of 22-year-old Yash Goswami, whose throat was slit by a manjha near Bara Hindu Rao Hospital, underscored the urgent need for decisive action.
The police operation aims to curtail such incidents, which have resulted in multiple casualties, including the death of a seven-year-old girl and injuries to a police ASI and a businessman. In previous operations, over 20,000 rolls of this deadly string were confiscated, indicating the scale of the threat.
