Empowering Youth: Delhi's Governance Internship Initiative

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta unveiled an ambitious internship program on Monday, designed to equip young individuals with a first-hand understanding of governance. Known as the Viksit Delhi Chief Minister's Internship Programme, it stands as a covenant between Delhi and its youth, urging them to step up as active contributors to the city's future.

This initiative will fairly and transparently select 150 interns for an 89-day tenure, each receiving a monthly stipend of Rs 20,000. Interns will engage with government officials, policymakers, and community leaders, working on real-time projects impacting Delhi citizens. Key areas include urban mobility, healthcare, waste management, and digital innovation, according to an official statement.

Candidates will apply online, answering questions to demonstrate their understanding and intent. Following a competitive boot camp and essay round, the final selection will be made. The program, structured in three phases, includes fieldwork and policy drafting, aiming to create 'Viksit Delhi Ambassadors' who will advocate for the city's development strategies in various domains.
