A hospital located in a remote village in Chhattisgarh's tribal-dominated-Bijapur district has been awarded the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certificate, officials said on Friday.
Ayushman Arogya Mandir Tumnar, located in Tumnar block, has achieved a historic feat by performing brilliantly in the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification and achieving 96.4 per cent marks, a government statement said.
This achievement in a remote area of Naxal-affected Bijapur reflects the quality of health services and commitment to the community which strengthens the mission of providing comprehensive primary health care under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, it said.
The NQAS assessment was conducted by national-level experts to thoroughly inspect the quality of services, infrastructure, record management, hygiene and patient care of the health centre. Ayushman Arogya Mandir Tumnar excelled in areas such as preventive, promotive, curative, rehabilitative and palliative care. This achievement has established Ayushman Arogya Mandir Tumnar as a model for healthcare services in the region, it added.
State Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said Ayushman Arogya Mandir Tumnar getting NQAS certificate is a proud moment for Bijapur district.
The achievement is the result of the efforts of dedication and cooperation of our health workers. Our aim is to provide high quality healthcare services to every citizen of the state and this achievement is an important step in that direction, he said.
Ayushman Arogya Mandir Tumnar has expanded its services in areas such as non-communicable diseases, mental health, eye diseases, geriatric care and emergency services which were earlier available only at the district quarter. This centre has been a pioneer in providing comprehensive healthcare services under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, he added.
