A man has been booked for allegedly flying a drone and ''spreading misinformation'' about the Bulk Drug Park project in Himachal Pradesh's Una district, police said on Friday.

Based on the complaint of Joint Director of Industries Department Anshul Dhiman, a case has been registered against Rohit Katwal, from Rakkar colony here, who allegedly violated directives issued by the Una District Magistrate. On May 10, District Magistrate and Chairman of Una Disaster Management Authority Jatin Lal had imposed a complete ban on flying drones and bursting crackers in the district in view of the tense situation between India and Pakistan at the time.

Dhiman said the accused violated the directives of the order and posted the drone footage on his social media accounts. In the complaint he also alleged that Katwal is running a ''malicious campaign'' against the project.

The Bulk Drug Park is a project of national importance, being jointly developed by the central and state governments with a total outlay of Rs 1,923 crore, he said.

Despite a complete ban on drone operations in the area, Katwal flew drones illegally over sensitive locations including Haroli, Tahliwal, and industrial zones around the park site, he added.

The DM's order had imposed a complete ban with immediate effect on any type of drone, unmanned aircraft (UAV), remote-controlled aircraft or drone-based photography-videography within the limits of Una district.

A case under relevant sections has been registered against Katwal at Haroli police station and further investigations are underway, Superintendent of Police Amit Yadav said.
