Tragedy at Tooman: Two Children Drown in River

Two children drowned in a river in Ashoknagar district of Madhya Pradesh on Monday, according to a police statement. The tragic incident unfolded in Tooman village.
The families of the victims, Saurabh Lodhi, 16, and Aarushi Sahu, 9, visited the river's confluence to fill Kavads on the second Monday of the Sawan month. Despite police warnings to stay out of the river, the children entered the water.
Eyewitnesses' attempts to save the children unfortunately failed, and their bodies were later recovered with the help of locals. Police have since registered a case and launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
