Maharashtra Congress leader Sachin Sawant has leveled serious allegations of corruption within the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) tendering process for water purification projects.

At a press conference, Sawant called for rigorous scrutiny into significant projects, notably the Rs 4,376 crore Bhandup Complex and the Rs 2,100 crore Panjrapole facility, accusing corrupt practices involving middlemen and political influence.

Sawant claimed the current government has turned the BMC into a corruption hub, with decisions swayed by external agents, violating Central Vigilance Commission and Competition Commission of India guidelines, and demanded immediate investigations by state and central authorities for transparency.
